Amanda Meis

April 29, 1996 — November 26, 2017

Amanda Jean Meis, 21, received her wings on November 26, 2017. Amanda was born in Laramie, WY on April 29, 1996 to Kim and Shawn Meis. She was the real-life baby doll that her older sister wanted. Amanda was full of life. At a young age, she enjoyed playing on a basketball league while living in Casper and swimming on a swim team. As she got older, her friends and family were more important to her. Everyone that knew or met her fell in love with her beautiful eyes, infectious laugh and personality. She met the man that would give her two beautiful children at the age of 17. Kaydence and Bentley. She was a devoted mother to her two children, a loving aunt to her nieces and nephew. A shoulder to cry on and an ear for listening to her older sister. A supporting cousin to Alyssa and Damon. Most of all, she was a daughter that any parent would be proud of. Amanda will be missed by the many people that were in her life, especially her family. Her children will grow up knowing the kind and gentle soul that she was while she was still with us. Amanda is survived by her children, Kaydence and Bentley Wuertemburg and their father, Mike; sister, Bryanna Shepherd (Max); two nieces, Marlee and Kaylin; and nephew, Maison, all of Rawlins; mother, Kim Meis of Saratoga WY; father, Shawn Meis (Jamey) of Billings, MT; grandparents, Donna Taylor and George and Bonita Ashby of Rawlins; great-grandfather, Gene Prow of Rawlins; uncles, Gary Taylor and George Ashby Jr., both of Rawlins; aunts, Michelle Meis of Dallas, TX and Marie Van Dyke (Dean) of Issaquah, WA; and numerous cousins and great- aunts and uncles. Amanda was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandfathers, Joe Taylor and Jerry Meis; great-grandmother, Bonnie Prow; great-uncle, Danny Prow; and uncle, Nick Ashby. Services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, located NW of the hospital, 800 N. 23rd St. Rawlins. Rev. Sharon Langfeldt will officiate.
