IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Beckham Eli
Reid
January 10, 2006 – October 18, 2025
Beckham passed away on October 18, 2025, in a motor vehicle accident in Sinclair, Wyoming while on a weekend camping trip with two of his close friends and roommates. He was absolutely living his best life!
Though we lost him far too soon, we didn’t completely lose him - he lives on in our hearts and memories. We will never forget him and the countless wonderful, funny moments that will stay with us for a lifetime. We think of him every day and of how happy he was, “doing his thing.” In that way, he’s still here with us...there will never be another Beck.
Beckham was deeply loved by his parents, Ryan and Jacqueline; his oldest friend and feline brother, Napoleon; his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and teachers, all of whom played a meaningful role in shaping who he was and who he became.
After attending Moss Haven Elementary and Forest Meadow Junior High in Lake Highlands, Beckham graduated from The Shelton School in Dallas, Texas, in 2024. He most recently attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he was majoring in Forestry and Land Management.
From an early age, Beck was independent, confident, and adventurous. He was never afraid to set out on his own if no one else was available to join. He was fearless and wanted to experience as much of life as he could. He developed a keen interest in photography, centered around his love of car meet-ups and racing, but while in Colorado, the Rocky Mountains became his muse. You could find him either hiking and primitive camping with his friends in the nearby Rocky Mountain National Forest, thrifting or sharing his love of music that ranged from the blues of Stevie Ray Vaughan, the jazz of John Coltrane to the rock of Pink Floyd. Beck was always on the lookout for a great find or a new artist that moved him, spending hours thumbing through used records and tapes in Dallas and Fort Collins.
Beckham found himself and his "people" among the high school friends and his new community at CSU. That, in the end, is what we all strive for in this life...so, cheers to Beck for making it all look easy and so much fun!
The unimaginable challenge for all who loved him, is to find a way forward in this new reality without our beautiful, sweet, funny, and smart Beck.
High Hopes
Pink Floyd
The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The endless river,
Forever and ever.
Up Around the Bend
Creedence Clearwater Revival
There's a place up ahead and I'm going
Just as fast as my feet can fly
Come away, come away, if you're going
Leave the sinking ship behind
Come on the rising wind
We're going up around the bend
Ooh!
Bring a song and a smile for the banjo
Better get while the getting's good
Hitch a ride to the end of the highway
Where the neons turn to wood
Come on the rising wind
We're going up around the bend
Ooh!
