Bob Lambertsen

April 18, 1930 — June 25, 2015

Robert (Bob) Morris Lambertsen, 85, of Rawlins Wyoming died Thursday, June 25, 2015. He was born April 18th, 1930. Bob was a Wyo. native and a lifetime resident of Rawlins Wyo. The Lambertsen family owned and operated the Texaco station on Spruce Street for many years. During the Korean War Bob was in the Wyoming National Guard, serving on a tank division. Bob was a member of the Rawlins City Fire Department from 1956 to 1991. During his firefighter career he served in many positions including volunteer, paid driver and at one time served as chief. He served on the Carbon County Fire Department from 1978 to 2011. He became on honorary firefighter in 2011 and will forever be a firefighter. Bob was the son of Walter Lambertsen and Annie Jeanne (Kelly) Lambertsen. He was married to Mary Belle Lambertsen for 57 years. They had two children Robert (Bobby) Lambertsen of California and Lauren Lambertsen of Rawlins, Wyo., and two grand children Amy Lambertsen of South Carolina and Braxton Lambertsen also of Rawlins, Wyo. Bob had one brother Keith Lambertsen and sister in law Karen Lambertsen. Other family members include, nephews Eric and Mike Lambertsen and niece Kirsten Coultre, nephew Bill and wife Sue Stephens of Riverton and nephew Chet Stephens. Close friends of the family are Randy and Wind Cragoe and their daughter Desiree' Cragoe. He was preceded in death by his parents Walt and Jean Lambertsen, his brother, Keith Lambertsen, and his daughter Lauren Lambertsen, all of Rawlins Wyo. and one nephew, Eric Lambertsen. Bob loved his wife Mary Belle and their children. He enjoyed going to the cabin and sharing it with family and friends. Bob was always telling stories of his life, to anyone that would listen. Bob was very proud of his years of service to both fire departments in Rawlins. A memorial service will be held at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church on July 7, 2015 at 1:00. There will be a graveside service at the Rawlins Cemetery with a reception at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Robert Lambertsen to the Carbon County Fire Department Auxiliary, P.O. Box 754, Rawlins, WY 82301 or the Rawlins Volunteer Fire Department, 320 Walnut, Rawlins WY 82301.
