Carol Lee (Stepanek) Goff was called home to God on April 2, 2026 at 84 years old, after a period of decline. Carol was the youngest of 9 children to parents Charles and Bessie (Hartl) Stepanek, born near Howells, Nebraska on August 30, 1941. The family later moved to Schuyler, Nebraska, where Carol graduated from Schuyler Central High School in 1959. Carol later lived near Columbus, Nebraska where she worked in manufacturing for several years. Carol married Delvin Goff on May 28, 1971, in Schuyler, Nebraska. The Goff's moved to Wamsutter, Wyoming in 1981, where they made their home for the rest of her life. Delvin and Carol would have celebrated 55 years of marriage in May.

Carol enjoyed gardening vegetables, fruit trees, and flowers. She was a talented artist and enjoyed drawing and painting, especially wildlife and birds; from large canvas to small pictures of animals she saw outside, and in her yard, which she would send to her great grandchildren. Carol enjoyed her pets, and grand-pets, playing cards, and she loved Elvis Prersley. Carol drove the school bus in Wamsutter and enjoyed the children she drove. She was active in her community, including helping coordinate Wamsutter's Wyoming Centennial Celebration. Carol was a member of Wamsutter Baptist Church.

Carol is survived by her husband Delvin Goff; of Wamsutter, Wyoming; her children Daniel (Jennifer) Goff of Wamsutter, Wyoming; Lynn Morgan (Keith) Sucha of Bennington, Nebraska; grandson Cody Goff of Cheyenne, Wyoming; 2 granddaughters, Jill (Danny) Leger, of Little Sioux, Iowa; Allison (Michael) Alvarez of Louisville, Kentucky; and 8 great-grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew, Benjamin, Helen Rose "Rosie", Julia, Ephrem "Remy" Leger; and Hazel and Joanna Alvarez. Sister-in-laws Anita Scott and Marcia Stepanek; and Brother-and-sister-in-law Gary (Bobbi) Goff; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; all 8 of her siblings, brothers Charles, Ronald and Orin Stepanek; sisters Gladys Stepanek, Bette Stepanek, Wylma Buettner; LaQuita "Lucky" Sklenar, and Marcella Husak; Father- and Mother-in-law Edwin and Regina Goff; and Sister-in-law Inis (Goff) Miller.

Carol had a big smile and an infectious laugh. She was our bright light; and while it may be hard for us to see it right now, we know that light still shines on through the love she gave to all those whose lives she touched.
