Catherine passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. She was born on January 1, 1933, in Rawlins, Wyoming to Manuel Jaure and Susie Carrasco Jaure.

She was kindhearted, generous, and very forgiving, loved being around her family. One of her passions was cooking their favorites enchiladas, green chili, and tamales, baking her delicious pies and cookies.

She loved fishing and going to the mountains, frying chicken on the open fire on many occasions, listening to Spanish music, and watching her novelas.

She took great joy in her many hobbies: ceramics, crocheting, embroidering, and sewing blankets.

A woman of faith, she loved to say her rosary daily. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

We are thankful for all the memories you left us with and you will always be in our hearts.

We will miss you terribly MaMa, love you forever and always until we meet again.

She is survived by her children Mike (Deb) Vigil, Marie (Justin) Maes, Christy (Fred) Sams and Hope (Bernie) Stradley; stepson Larry Jr. (Diane) Eck; grandchildren Monica (Steve) Baldwin, Melissa Martinez (Jose Cavasos), Charley Maes, Andy Maes, Frankie (Sondra) Lucero, Josh (Stephanie) Sams, Faith Vigil, Charity Stradley, and Jose (Marissa) Stradley; fifteen great grandchildren; six great, great grandchildren; and siblings Vivian Roberts, Betty Smith, Mannie (Marv) Smith, Teo (Roni) Jaure, Irene (David) Martinez, Elena Jaure, Rosie Jaure, Patsy Cadillo, Chris Jaure and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Larry Eck, siblings Manuel, Frank, John Terry, Jimmy Jaure, Angie Montoya, Sally Allen, and grandson Travis Vigil.

A celebration of life will be held for the immediate family the summer of 2026.
