Cherie Mason

Cherie Lynn Mason entered into life on January 8, 1952 at the Union County Hospital in Anna, Illinois. She entered into rest on January 1, 2017 in Rawlins, Wyoming. Cherie attended Rawlins High School in Rawlins, Wyoming. She waitressed for numerous family restaurants in Rawlins. She also worked for the City of Rawlins in the Water and Sanitation Departments. Cherie was a very skilled artist and had a deep love for art. She loved working in her flower garden, sewing, and creating crafts. She also loved spending time with her husband, Jerry Mason, her family, and her dog "Maggie". Cherie loved a good walk. You will never find a woman more happy to "dress-up" for anything, even a quick trip to the store. Cherie was a vibrant, spiritual person, full of love and laughter. She was very happy, artistic, and creative. She could light up any room with her larger than life personality. In her waitress days she was known as "Little Red Riding Shoes" with her red shoes and swift movement from table to table, always with a happy bounce in her step. Cherie was a proud cancer survivor, a hard working mother, and loving wife. She was a great cook, and loved comedy, music and the arts. Most of all she loved God. Cherie will forever be a light in all the lives she touched with her contagious smile. Fair winds and following seas in your new adventure, Admiral. Cherie is survived by her mother, Francis; step father, Phil Lewis; step mother, Marge Kimbro; her husband, Jerry Mason; her sisters, Amber (Roger) Kindhart and Laurel (Dwight) Rickard; her daughter, Heidi (Donny) Rood; her sons, Tyson (Tiffini) Capozzoli and Danny (Lacy) Capozzoli; her grandsons, Donovan, Javan, Ezekiel, and Samuel Capozzoli; and her granddaughters, Alyssa, Brynn and Wrenly Capozzoli. Cherie was preceeded in death by her four grandparents; her father, Arvil Kimbro; and her brother, Larry Kimbro. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Best Western Cotton Tree Inn in Rawlins, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the City of Rawlins Animal Shelter.
