Cheryl Mae Bergeson, born on December 23, 1951, in Rawlins, Wyoming, passed away on September 6, 2025, at the Casper Wyoming Hospital, surrounded by her beloved family. Cheryl's life journey began in her hometown, where she cultivated a strong sense of community and family that would define her character throughout her life.

A proud member of the Encampment High School Class of 1970, Cheryl was involved in various school activities, including the Future Homemakers of America, pep club, and annual staff. It was during this time that she married her high school sweetheart, John Bergeson, on July 11, 1970. Their union marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership built on love, faith, and shared values.

Cheryl dedicated herself to a variety of professions throughout her working life, demonstrating her commitment to hard work and service. She worked as a maid at the Saratoga Inn, a waitress at the Side Saddle Restaurant, and a clerk at Kuntzman’s store. Ultimately, she found fulfillment in running her own cleaning business, serving numerous clients until health issues prevented her from continuing.

Cheryl was a person of remarkable strength and resilience, blessed with a great sense of humor and a warm smile that could brighten anyone's day. Her kind words and welcoming nature made all who entered her family feel like they belonged. As a devoted Jehovah's Witness, her faith guided her actions and brought her comfort throughout her life.

Among her many passions, Cheryl loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Some of her cherished memories include riding horses, camping, and enjoying vacations whenever possible. She also found joy in her beautiful flower gardens, indulged in her favorite literature, and treasured long, laughter-filled conversations over the phone.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, John Bergeson; daughters Michelle (Jason) Serres and Katrina (Cory) Nuhn; grandchildren Cullen (Shannon) Serres, Teagan (fiancé Cole), Kyle Nuhn, and Hunter Hammer; and great-granddaughter MaeLee Serres. Brother Rob (Dawna) Martin, sister Loretta (Gary) Loose, brother in laws Bill, Jerry and Bob Bergeson, sister in law Donna Reynolds and many nieces, nephews and long time friends. She will always be remembered for the loving legacy she leaves behind.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Richard L. Martin; mother, Dora Martin; brother, Richard “Rick” Martin; and grandson, Tyler Nuhn. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. Cheryl Mae Bergeson will be deeply missed, yet her spirit, laughter, and love will forever resonate in the lives she touched.
