Clara Gosvener

February 11, 1940 — January 5, 2021

Max passed from this life January 5, 2021 at the age of 80 at her daughter’s residence in Sinclair, Wyoming.

She was born to Arthur and Mildred Kendall Dobson on February 11, 1940, in Orlando Oklahoma, Payne County. Max always said that she was a “pain” because she was born in Payne County.  She attended schools in Plainville, Kansas after the family re-located there.  She had seven siblings.

She married Billy Dean Lumpkins and followed him to Puerto Rico in his service to the US Air Force, both of their children were born in Puerto Rico; they later divorced.  She later married Wayne E. Gosvener and gained a step-daughter.

She worked as a Truck Driver (the first female over-the-road driver for four different companies) also becoming an Owner-Operator for several years.  She re-located from Nebraska to Wyoming in 1992 after Wayne passed away.  She started a new career as a CNA working at Park Manor Nursing Home and later retired from Carbon County Public Health.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wayne, her sisters Betty Jo and Mary Ann and her son-in-law Mark Brown.

She is survived by her brothers Raymond, Melvin, Terry, Larry and James.  Her Daughters Teresa Gosvener-Coleman, Cinthia Brown and son Richard Lumpkins (Pam). Grandchildren Staci Nottestad (Ryan) children Austyn, Paighton and Maddison, Vallory Drayton (Michael) children Michael Jr. and Marshaun; Timothy Lumpkins (Kayla) children Charlee, Karlee, Carter and Karsen; Hallee Brown daughter Cosette; Britany (Trey) Brattin children Trenten and Treylynn and Billy Lumpkins (Trisha) children Haylee, Harley, Ashtyn, Parker, Alayna and Jack.

She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the VFW in Kansas.  She loved her bingo and Yahtzee.

There will be a memorial service for family only January 22, 2021, at 2:00 PM at the Pentecostals of Rawlins, 102 E. State St. and it will also be on Facebook on the Pentecostals of Rawlins Facebook page.  Her ashes will be interned in Plainville, Kansas at a later date.
