Connie Pomeroy

October 26, 1919 — September 26, 2014

Connie Pomeroy passed away on September 26, 2014 at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County at the age of 94, exactly one month before her 95th birthday. She was born in Madrid, Nebraska to parents Clifford and Ella Cole on October 26, 1919. After graduating from high school in Madrid, Connie moved to Rawlins in the mid 1940's. Connie married Caryle Pomeroy on August 11, 1966. They were married 43 years before Carlyle's death in 2009. Connie enjoyed camping and the mountains, where she loved watching hummingbirds; as well as quilting, cooking and gardening. The First United Methodist Church held a special place in Connie's heart. She served as church treasurer for many years, and spent many hours volunteering for various projects. Her greatest treasure was being a mother, grand-mother and great grand-mother. Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Caryle; a son, David Morgan; and grand-daughter, Linda Yosso. She is survived by her sons, Dennis and Fred Morgan; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Morgan; step-daughters, Carolyn Hause and Sally Hanley; as well as numerous grand-children and great grand-children. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, followed by burial in the Rawlins Cemetery. Pastor Tom Thompson will be officiating. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Connie's name to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 146, Rawlins, WY 82301.
