Cordelia Vasquez

Cordelia Edna Vasquez was born in Embudo, Rio Arriba New Mexico on May 14, 1947 to Gilberto and Carolina Medina. Cordelia graduated from Penasco High School, and soon after she married Antonio Leroy Vasquez, on January 15, 1971. She gave birth to her first daughter on September 5, 1971, and a second daughter on February 7, 1975. Shortly after the couple moved to Rawlins where she gave birth to a son on July 8, 1977. Cordelia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; her hobbies included crocheting, baking with her grandchildren, making puzzles and yard selling. Everyone who knew Cordelia knew her as Cordy or Edna. She worked at MHCC for 18 years where she met a lot of wonderful people. Cordy was the most wonderful and caring person you could ever meet, she would do anything for anyone who needed her help. She is survived by her husband Antonio Vasquez of 45 years, daughter Beatrice Vasquez Gonzales (Eloy Jr.), son Leroy Vasquez, son in law David Tomacelli, grandchildren Mariah Farrington, Gabriel Gonzales, Nathan Vasquez, Serena Vasquez, Tiffany, Austin, and Serephina Tomacelli; Justin, Brenda, and Vince Rodriguez; great grandchildren Presley Vasquez; Landon, Scarlett, Skyler and Ryker Rodriguez all of Rawlins, WY. Brothers Marcos Medina (Porfila), Fred Medina and numerous nephews and nieces all from New Mexico Cordy is preceded in death by her parents Gilberto and Carolina Medina, daughter Antoniette Tomacelli, sisters Bonnie Rodriguez, Genevieve Montoya and Lillian Martinez.
