Debbie
Weickum
Aug 9, 1957 — Sep 9, 2026
Rawlins
Deborah Lynn "Debbie" Weickum, 69, of Rawlins, Wyoming, passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2026.
Debbie was born on August 9, 1957, in Newcastle, Wyoming, to Ed Hoff and Frannie Sue (House) Hoff.
Debbie earned her associate's degree, an accomplishment she was proud of. Throughout her life, she was known less for what she did and more for who she was: a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who was always there when someone needed her.
On August 11, 1978, she married Terry Weickum. Together they built a life filled with family, laughter, and a commitment to caring for others.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Terry Weickum; her children, Josh Weickum, Lee (Dana) Weickum, and Lucy (Sam) Walkup; her grandchildren, Brieana Sweiger, Zane Weickum, Dalton Sweiger, Reid Weickum, Ian Weickum, Wilbur Walkup, Laynie Sweiger, Ella Weickum, Emma Walkup, Conner Weickum, Rylee Weickum, and Maxwell Walkup; her great-grandson, Theo Stalker; and her brothers, Mike, Dan, and Stephen Hoff.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Frannie Sue Hoff, and her sisters Anita (Hoff) Duncan and Pam (Hoff) Holland.
If you knew Debbie, you knew she was always willing to help. Whether it was volunteering around election time, helping paint the Rawlins pedestrian tunnel, serving meals at community Thanksgiving dinners, or simply being there when someone needed a hand, she showed up. Helping people wasn't something she did occasionally. It was simply who she was.
Debbie loved line dancing, singing, spending time with family, and keeping up with the people she loved. She never forgot a birthday and was often one of the first people to send a text. She loved getting pictures of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson and keeping up with everything happening in their lives.
Her home was a welcoming place, and many of her children's friends spent time there over the years. She made people feel comfortable, included, and cared for. To many, she was more than just Mom or Grandma. She was someone people enjoyed being around and remembered fondly.
Her family will remember her for many things: her famous tacos, her caring nature, and the way she always put others before herself. They will especially remember the love and dedication she showed while caring for Terry during his cancer treatments, standing beside him every step of the way.
More than anything, Debbie will be remembered for her kindness. She made people feel important. She checked in, stayed connected, and genuinely cared about what was happening in their lives. The love she shared with her family, friends, and community will continue to be felt for years to come.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Peppermill Bar & Grill, 1602 Inverness Boulevard in Rawlins. Family and friends are invited to attend, share stories, and celebrate Debbie's life.
She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
