Delores Mascarenas

June 28, 1929 — September 3, 2014

Delores Hope Mascarenas, 85, of Rawlins, WY, passed away on Sept. 3, 2014 due to complications of illness. Delores was born in Rawlins on June 28, 1929. She was married to Joseph on Dec. 6, 1950; they were married for 30 years. Delores worked as a care provider for the Department of Family Services and was a homemaker for many years. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family. She also enjoyed her pets, camping, cooking for everyone and traveling. Delores spent many years at Jack Creek Campground as the camp tender and very much enjoyed that summer job. She was also actively involved in the care and upbringing of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a young girl living on a ranch, she played many roles from cooking, cleaning and tending to the animals and family members. This life carried on and so did her love of all animals. Her door and her heart were always open to anyone who needed a helping hand. No one ever left Delores' home on an empty stomach. She was last of the children of Tony and Virginia Jaure. Delores is survived by her sons: Arthur (Barbara) Mascarenas, Gilbert Mascarenas, and Andrew Mascarenas, all of Cheyenne, WY, and Henry Mascarenas, Jerry (Bunny) (Jeri) Mascarenas, and James (Chet) (Annette) Montoya) Mascarenas, all of Rawlins, WY; daughters: Sue (Merv) Gettman of Riverton, WY and Cindy Milliken of Rawlins, WY; grandchildren: Michael Martinez, Onika Trujillo, Tony Jo Mascarenas, Amy Jo Mascarenas, Melissa Jeanette, Jeffery Mascarenas, Paula Mascarenas, Jeremy Mascarenas, Casey Mascarenas, Dezery Palmer, Matthew Gettman, Ashley Milliken, Savannah Mascarenas, Elaine Ochoa, Elisha Mascarenas, and Lorena Mascarenas; numerous great-grandchildren, niece's and nephew's; and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Mascarenas; daughter, Mary Ellen Barela; sons, Benny Mascarenas and Pete Mascarenas; sisters, Katie Bustos, Lillian Garcia and Rose Jaramillo; brothers, Emol Jaure, Joe Jaure and Leo Jaure; and her parents, Virginia and Tony Jaure..
