Dennis A. Martinez, a beloved family man and dedicated worker, passed away on January 21, 2025, in Rawlins, Wyoming, at the age of 86. Born on December 31, 1938, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dennis was the son of Connie and Albert Martinez.
He dedicated 13 years of his life to Arch Mineral, followed by 15 years at Bridger Coal, where he eventually retired. His work ethic and commitment did not go unnoticed, and he was respected by his colleagues throughout his career.
Dennis was passionate about spending time with his family and friends, creating a rich tapestry of memories that will forever live on in their hearts. He found joy in hobbies such as hunting, fishing, and gardening, particularly in caring for his cherished apple trees. These interests not only brought him happiness but also served as a way to connect with nature and share memorable moments with loved ones.
He was a devoted father to Kay (the late James) Brandon, Jimmy Martinez, Sheri Martinez, Paul Martinez, and Linda Gomez (Leo). His grandchildren—Travis (Mandy) Martinez, Chris Ebell, Dominic Martinez, Derick Martinez, Marcey Nieman, Jasmine Gomez, Jacob Gomez, Jonathon Gomez, and cherished Great-Granddaughter Abbey Scriven—brought him immense joy.
Dennis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine Martinez, who was his partner in life, and his parents, Connie Rodda and Albert Martinez. He also mourned the loss of his siblings, Annabell Lovato and Joe Martinez, as well as his grandson, Patrick Martinez.
A graveside service will be held in his honor at the Rawlins Cemetery Pavilion in Rawlins, Wyoming, on July 19, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM, where friends and family will gather to celebrate his life and the lasting impact he had on those around him.
Dennis A. Martinez will be remembered for his generous spirit, love for his family, and the legacy he leaves behind.
