Dennis Ratcliffe

RAWLINS-Dennis Keil Ratcliffe, age 76, died Sunday August 28, 2016 in Rawlins, Wyoming. Dennis was born March 3, 1940 to William Edward and Genevieve (Ward) Ratcliffe in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. On April 5, 1968 he married Eleanor Hope Montoya in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He entered the military June 1968 and served until December 1969, where he was Kitchen Supervisor. This prepared him for the long career in the hospitality industry. A trade he perfected through the years. Fly fishing was Dennis' lifelong passion along with many outdoor activities, including hunting and gardening. His respect to fellow veterans showed every year for 11 years preparing and serving the Veteran's Day dinner hosted by the VFW. Dennis is preceded in death by his father and mother, brother, Benjamin Ratcliffe, wife Eleanor H. Ratcliffe. He is survived by a daughter, Tami Ratcliffe and her husband Wayne Boyhan; stepson, Monte Thayer and his wife Andrea; brother, Ron Ratcliffe and sister, Jody (Thayne) Ellis; three grandsons, Keil (Mahaley), Kevin (Marissa) Ratcliffe and Jordan Thayer; one granddaughter, Jessica Thayer and four great grandchildren, Espen, Kai, Nevaeh Ratcliffe and Tayvon Snider. A memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday October 15, 2016 at the LDS Church, 509 E. Kendrick, Rawlins, WY 82301. A military salute will follow at 11:30 A.M. at Bunkerz, 2808 Rochelle Dr., Rawlins, WY 82301 with a reception for family and friends to immediately follow.
