Donal H. Pixler, Jr., (Dad, Pix, Coach, Papa Bear, Papa Moose), 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 30, 2023. He was born in Rawlins, Wyoming to Donal H. Pixler, Sr. and Mary Edith Clemmons on May 18, 1944. He graduated from Rawlins High School and later attended Northwest and Casper Colleges until he enlisted in the Army (1965-1967), where he served in Vietnam. On March 16, 1968 he married the love of his life, Bonnie Jeanne Terrill. Together they had three children, Donal (Stephaney), Janel (Barry) and Charles (CeeJae). They have nine grandchildren, LeaVell (Dylan), Jalyn (Karter), Jayda, Brantyn, Bayler, Hunter (Hailey), Abbey, Kendall, and Camden.  They have one great-grandchild, Abel, with one, Hank, coming soon.  Pix had many jobs over the years, his longest as a blaster/coal miner for Arch Mineral, which totaled 38 years.

Throughout his life Pix was the life of the party, he loved to see people laugh.  Pix loved anything outdoors, this often included hunting and fishing.  He enjoyed watching football and basketball and later in life he became an avid golfer, playing a round with anyone he could find.  He also coached little league football and basketball for 25 years.  He was Coach to so many.  He was not just a coach, but also an avid Outlaw, Cowboy, and Broncos fan.

Pix befriended anyone he met.  Never was there a stranger, he was always willing to help, talk, or just listen to anyone.  His children’s friends were treated as his own.  They often referred to him as Papa Bear.  Papa Bear was then changed to Papa Moose by his grandchildren.  Papa Moose absolutely loved his grandchildren, they could do no wrong.  Papa Moose was always so excited to gain another grandchild.  He loved to hold the babies.

Pix was preceded in death by his parents, Donal Pixler, Sr., Mary (Clemmons) Pixler, Bob Pixler (brother), Pam Rollison (sister), Shorty and Jeanette Terrill (in-laws), and John Terrill (brother-in-law).

The funeral will be held on July 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Episcopal Church, with a luncheon following at the Korean Shrine at 3:30 PM.
