Durward Griffith, Jr.

October 13, 1937 — June 7, 2020

Durward "Ward" Belmont Griffith Jr. was born in Indianapolis, Indiana — Johnson County on 10/13/1937. He was raised on a family farm and attended High School in Maresville, Indiana. He later attended college at Erlem College in Richmond, Indiana and received his bachelor degree; he also attended the University of Indiana and received his Master's in Chemistry, and attending the University of Wyoming and receiving his Master's in Petroleum Engineering.

He also served in the Air Force during the Cuban Crisis, and had a Military Rank of A2C E-3, and received an honorable Discharge.

Later he was and educator, also worked for IBM, and later in the oilfields, which eventually moved him to Rawlins, WY. Later in life he was a substitute teacher in Carbon County and Sweetwater school districts.

He enjoyed Reading (Louis Lamour- one of his favorites), Golfing, Fishing, exploring, and always continuing his education, and expending his knowledge.

He enjoyed socializing, and going to the Senior Center, eagerly awaiting the Senior Bus to pick him up, I one on, and Last one Off.

Ward had many friends, and acquaintances, and was always' willing to offer a helping hand.

Ward will be laid to rest with his parents as he wished in Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana.
