Easton Maurice Mason, a cherished soul, was born on December 15, 2008, in Laramie, Wyoming. He was the youngest child of Jared and Valerie Ann (Roybal) Mason. Easton was a constant part of the Saratoga community, running around at sporting events, cheering his brothers and smiling constantly. Reflecting on his childhood, those who knew him will always remember the little boy who idolized Spiderman, demanding to wear costumes daily and embodying the hero he admired to protect others during those early years. There was also the unforgettable “epic” dance routine he performed during a Michael Jackson tribute show on a family vacation in Cancun - a moment that, although slightly embarrassing to him, became a treasured memory for his loved ones.
He sadly passed away on August 22, 2025, in Saratoga, Wyoming. His time on this Earth, although too brief, was filled with remarkable achievements, meaningful connections, and a spirit that touched the lives of all who knew him.
As Easton grew, he began to participate in sporting events of his own. He picked up golf early, and then tried baseball, wrestling, basketball, and track. However, it was on the football field that his passion was most on display. The rising junior was not only an All-Conference and All-State football player for the Saratoga Panthers but he also earned the esteemed "Most Dedicated Player Award" in both 2023 and 2024. Known for his robust enthusiasm, and consistent workouts, he completed an unbelievable amount of push-ups amassing more than 70,000 this past year alone. He started this school year with the bench press record of seven reps at 225 pounds.
Besides being a top-notch athlete, Easton excelled in the classroom and was proud to maintain his 4.0 GPA and serve as a class officer. To expand his academic skills, he joined FBLA where he placed at state and competed nationally the past two years in Business Procedures and Public Speaking. He added more skills like mechanics, welding, and livestock judging as a member of FFA. Additionally, Easton proudly raised and showed his pigs every year at the Carbon County Fair, and this year at the Wyoming State Fair.
Easton also loved music and was a talented trumpet player. He was honored to be part of the Saratoga High School Jazz ensemble where he performed in several great concerts along with playing in the pep band at basketball games. Additionally, he was invited to play at the Southeast District Music Clinic.
Outside of school, he loved his time in the outdoors - hunting, fishing, and camping with family. He absolutely loved making and eating s'mores around the campfire. Easton was also active in 4-H shooting sports where he was a natural with a bow and arrow. He achieved the title of Archery State Champion at the Wyoming State Shoot. It is hard to believe how many robin hoods he shot!
When you found Easton inside he was building intricate Lego masterpieces that adorned his room, or expressing his creativity and other talents through a variety of crafts and baking with his mom. He shared a love for the Pittsburgh Steelers alongside his dad and brother as they watched numerous games together whenever possible. Furthermore, you would find Easton singing in the shower, playing the piano, reading his bible and journaling about what he did on a daily basis.
Easton was dedicated to his community, serving with grace at St. Ann's Catholic Church as an altar boy and lector reading scripture and leading prayer. His unwavering faith guided him in life, instilling in him a profound sense of kindness and compassion that he generously shared with others. With a bright smile and an infectious laugh, Easton radiated joy and comfort, always offering a listening ear to those in need.
Family played an integral role in Easton’s life. He is survived by his beloved parents, Jared and Valerie Ann (Roybal) Mason, and his loving brothers, Dylan Reed Snodgrass (Mason) and James Hunter Mason. Easton’s maternal grandparents, Robert and Viola Roybal, and paternal grandparents, Jerry and Shiela Mason, along with several uncles, aunts, and cousins. They all held a special place in his heart. He leaves behind an extensive family network that will carry his memory forward with love and pride.
Easton Maurice Mason may no longer walk among us, but the light he brought into the world will forever shine in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. His legacy of kindness, love, and faith will be commemorated on August 29, 2025, at St. Ann Catholic Church with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life on August 30, 2025, at Saratoga High School at 3:00 PM.
As we remember Easton, let us continue to share in his spirit of devotion, laughter, and camaraderie, ensuring that his vibrant life and everlasting impact resonate within our community and beyond.
