Edward Faust

March 31, 1932 — April 2, 2012

Edward C. Faust, 80, of Lovell, WY, passed away April 2, 2012 at the North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell following complications from a stroke suffered in 2008. Funeral Services will take place on Wed. April 11, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. in the Pavilion at the Saratoga Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tues. April 10, 2012, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Rostad Mortuary in Rawlins. Mr. Faust was born March 31, 1932, in Joliet, IL to parents Elizabeth (Elmore) and Edward C. Faust, Sr. He attended school in Joliet until enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. On Jan. 22, 1958, in Tulsa, OK, he was married to Betty Jewel Ames. They had four children together, three boys and one girl. He moved to WY in 1982, where he worked for the Forest Service until retiring in 1994. He had previously worked in timber, geological survey in OK, construction, the Arkansas State Parks, and various other occupations. In 1992, he was married to Pat Payne, and together they operated The Place at 10-Mile until 1999. They then moved to the Big Horn Basin and were planning to once again make their home in Saratoga. He attended the Music Conservatory in Joliet, IL studying trumpet. He was a self-taught guitarist, playing professionally with his love for Gospel, Jazz, and Rhythym and Blues. His hobbies included hound dogs, hunting, fishing, river guiding, and outdoor life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, LiLith, and a step-daughter, Linda Payne Pederssen. Survivors include his wife, Pat, of Saratoga; sons: Edward of Fayetteville, AR, Steve of Springdale, AR, and John of Ft. Smith, AR; daughter, Elise Palen of New York, NY; grandsons: Jared, Dustin and Zack; granddaughter, Stephanie Henderson; great-grandson, Carter James Henderson; great-granddaughter, McKinley Marie Henderson; step-son, Bill Payne of East Prairie, MO; step-daughters: Fran Payne-Rogers of Saratoga, Billie Jo (and Steve) Fredericks of Schenectady, NY; and their children: Stephanie, Bob, and Will; and special friend, Joe Irene of Saratoga. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saratoga Cemetery Board or the charity of your choice.
