Frances Kolsen

April 26, 1919 — September 21, 2015

Frances Kolsen, 96, of Rawlins passed away Sept. 21, 2015. She was born Apr. 26, 1919 in Rawlins to parents Louis and Matilda Erickson. The family will hold services at St. Thomas Episcopal Church near the end of Oct. or beginning of Nov. of 2015. She spent the majority of her life as a devoted homemaker. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild and was in charge of keeping the kitchen clean. She was also a member of the Homemaker's Club, Rebekah's and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Frances is remembered as the best Grandma ever, a best friend, a great example to her grandchildren on how to treat their spouses and children , a great storyteller, the "glue" of the family, and for looking out for the best interests of others. She was kind-hearted, generous and had a wonderful sense of humor. Granddaughter, Kristin, is particularly thankful for the time she spent with her Grandma, giving her a chance to get to know Maycee, her seventh great-great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Marion Lovato; sister, Myrtle; brother, Elmer; two grandsons, Daniel (Bridget) Patterson and Everett (Jeannie) Patterson; four great-grandchildren, Josiah, Kristin, Danielle and Jonathan; seven great-great-grandchildren; five nieces; and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie; brothers, Raymond and Roy; and nephew, Bobby. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Frances Kolsen's memory to St. Thomas Episcopal Church Altar Guild, P. O. Box 608, Rawlins, WY 82301.
