George Eads

February 25, 1951 — June 28, 2017

George Eugene Eads passed away June 28, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County from complications of his short battle with cancer. He was born February 25, 1951 in Caldwell, ID to Willie Marvin and Anna Pearl Eads. The family moved to Rawlins in 1957, where George attended school. He graduated in 1969. He married Bonnie Kinney the summer of 1971 in Caldwell, ID. The couple had two children, Kathy Ann and Johnny Roy. George worked for the City of Rawlins on the street crew for several years. He was also a contract painter, flagger, and he even traveled with the carnival in the 1990's. After his retirement, he stayed busy by washing dishes at several local restaurants. George was a very talented artist. He loved to draw, do leatherwork and beadwork, and woodwork. He enjoyed playing pool. He was a charter member of the Eagles, and Vice Commander for the Sons of the American Legion. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, and his long white beard. He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Roy, parents Marvin and Ann Eads, and his cockatiel, Joey. George is survived by his daughter, Kathy Eads of Cheyenne, brother David Eads and his wife Lyric of Buffalo, sister Denise Clark and her husband Robert of Rawlins, sister Marla Ford and her husband Dan, of Rawlins, and special friend Martin "Rusty" Erickson, of Rawlins. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 14 at the Rawlins Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. His brother, David Eads, will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to the Sons of the American Legion Post 122, P. O. Box 1085, Rawlins WY, 82301.
