JoAnn Terry was called Home on July 18, 2025, into the loving embrace of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and a joyous reunion with her mother and father, Ralph and Estelle Terry, sisters Pat and Shirlee, baby brother Chuck, and a lifetime of beloved pets.
Born in Buffalo, Wyoming on October 20, 1946, she was raised in Buffalo where she’d meet her future husband, Don Rood. From this union she’d have five adoring children, raising them in their home by the river outside of Sinclair, Wyoming, which she always proclaimed was the happiest time and place of her life. She is survived by her big brother Jerry and her five children: Tami Rood of Rawlins, Donny (Heidi) Rood of Casper, Terri (Jayson) Walford of Lingle, Traci Rood of Casper, and Tiffini (Tyson) Capozzoli of Riverton; four grandchildren: Morgan, Wyatt, Regan, and Dillon; and one great grandchild: Aspen.
JoAnn was an animal lover before she was anything. There was never an animal in need that she wouldn’t move heaven & earth to help. Her fun and loving spirit earned her many great friends in life. When she’d get laughing it would almost always be to the point of tears. She found peace in nature. Always in awe of all God’s creation, and being by water was her zen. Music was important, too. There was never not music in the home. If it wasn’t playing through speakers, her humming would replace the silence. And holidays . . . she always made them spectacular! She will be dearly missed.
Her family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to Wyoming Dementia Care and Affinity Case Management for their guidance, Rawlins Rehabilitation and Wellness for her care in her final months, and Memorial Hospital of Carbon County for her care in her final days, where she would pass into peace with her family at her side and her hands in theirs.
JoAnn will rest with her mother and father in beautiful Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo, Wyoming. Private services will be planned at a later date.
