Joseph A. Gomez, 61, of Rawlins, passed away Jan. 4, 2015. He was born Apr. 5, 1953, in Monte Vista, CO to parents Floripa G. (Trujillo) and Jose B. Gomez. Vigil service with recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat. Jan. 10, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's. Interment will take place in Manassa, CO in the summer of 2015. Joseph was a roofer by trade, which he enjoyed. His hobbies included fishing, camping, being outdoors, Spanish music, western movies and spending time with family and friends. He was an awesome dancer and an avid 49ers fan. He is remembered as a kind and loving person who always gave from a big heart and made others feel special. Survivors include his son, Gary Gomez of Salt Lake City, UT; daughter, Annette (Simon) Villalpando of Denver, CO; several grandchildren; siblings, Alonzo (Tina) Gomez of Deer Lodge, MT, Barbara (Ralph) Garcia of Rawlins, WY, Gloria Marquez of Denver, CO, Ben (Linda) Gomez of Point of Rocks, WY, Pat Gomez of Manassa, CO, Sally (Mel) Schneider of Thermopolis, WY and Arlene (John) Sandoval of Manassa, CO; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph Gomez, Jr.; sister, Olive Jaramillo; brother, Chris Gomez; and nephews, Jeffrey Arellano, Randy Gomez and Tony Pierce.
