Lois Seldomridge

September 23, 1941 — August 5, 2020

Lois Marie (Tabor) Seldomridge, 78, passed away suddenly on August 5, 2020 at the Cheyenne Medical Center, Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Lois was born on September 23, 1941, in Dale, Johnson County, Arkansas to Chester F. and Esther (Melson) Tabor.  In 1946, the family moved to Hanna where she went to school graduating with honors in 1960 from Hanna High School.

Lois married her high school sweetheart, Hans Glad Seldomridge, on October 21, 1960 and 9 months later Shawn Marie was born and Michael Hans followed 18 months later.  They were married for ten years.

Lois worked for the Internal Revenue Service as a fiscal officer for 25 years first in Ogden, Utah and then transferring to Fresno, California.  After retiring from IRS, Lois moved back to Utah and then to Rawlins to be closer to her family.  She decided that retirement was not for her and worked at the Carbon County Child Development Center for 8 years as an assistant teacher.  Lois found her niche in life there.  The kids were precious to her and they all worshipped Miss Lois.  Even after the students moved on to Kindergarten, they still remembered and came running to her whenever they saw her in town.

Lois is well known for her crafting expertise and was always on the lookout for the next great craft to try.  The local craft shows will miss her presence as she was usually the first one to rent a table to show off her crafts.

Lois enjoyed volunteering and was on the Election Board for several years.

Lois loved the Raiders, the Lakers with Kobe Bryant being her favorite player, and UW Cowboys and Cowgirls.  She would attend the UW games whenever she could.  She was always the loudest voice singing “Cowboy Joe”.

Lois loved to sing, especially Old-Time Country songs, and was often heard singing Karaoke and entertaining the crowd.

Lois was quite the gardener and her lawn and flowers were her pride and joy.  She could be seen everyday either mowing the lawn, planting flowers or just working outside.

Finally, Lois truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family (she never met a stranger), spending time with her nieces and nephews, teaching crafts and helping anyone who asked.  Lois had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.

She is survived by her daughter, Shawn Claypool; three brothers, Leslie D. Tabor, Wesley E. (Carole) Tabor, Conley F. (Patti) Tabor; four sisters, Sue Cureton, Ginny Autio (Kelly Anderson), Lynda Tabor-Brown and Catherine Lawrence; three grandchildren, Jillian Stoffel, Bryant Willingham, Andrea Sons; four great grandchildren, Karson Young, Halo Willingham, Saydie Bruce, and Luxarei Willingham, and over 50 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael; and 4 sisters, Betty Glenn, Bonnie LeBlanc, Myrtle Russell, and Evelyn Zeiger.

The memorial service will be held at the Jacoby Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jason Harshberger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wyoming Diabetes Association.
