M. Ilene (Campbell) Hanson, loving mother, sister, and grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep due to complications with Dementia on the evening of January 11th, 2026, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the age of 86 years old. Ilene was born in Wheatland, Wyoming, March 16, 1939, to Cecil and Lourine Campbell. She grew up and graduated from High School in Rawlins, Wyoming, enjoying life with her sister Shirley (Campbell) Conner, riding horses, and bringing home stray dogs. She met Richard J. Hanson, whom she married, and they had two children, Sandra and Barry. She returned to Rawlins, Wyoming to enjoy her retirement after living in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada.

As Ilene proceeded through life, she was filled with a love for God, animals, and helping people. She retired from Hewlett Packard, in 1988. Her love for people led her to become an In-Home Care specialist and Certified Hospice and Bereavement Counselor and Volunteer, while she lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. This love also empowered her return to Rawlins, Wyoming, to take care of her mother Lourine after the passing of her Father, Cecil. It was at this time; Ilene became a member of the Rebekahs – which is a service-oriented branch of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows. Her involvement with this international community service-based organization found her following in her mother’s footsteps to become the Grand Matriarch of the Grand L.E.A. in 2013-2014, the President of the Rebekahs in 2014-2015, and the President of the Department Association – L.A.P.M. from 2016-2018. She was very proud of being President of all three (3) branches of the Rebekahs and served with dignity and honor. It was also during this time that Ilene took up her hobby of working with beads. It is because of her love for working with beads, she made several bead and glass tables that can be found in many of her friends and family’s homes.

After she returned to Rawlins, she also worked as a Senior Companion and a volunteer at the Hospital Gift Shop. As a Senior Companion, Ilene felt much joy in her ability to assist the people in the community of Rawlins that found themselves with needs that she could fulfill. These two positions brought her great joy and many friends.

She was a special member of the Christ Lutheran Church, where she took great pleasure in volunteering and giving joy to others through her boundless belief in God and service to the other members of the church.

She will be greatly missed by her aunt, Daisy, her sister, Shirley (Nick) Conner, daughter, Sandra (Hanson) Noonan, son, Barry (Christine) Hanson, Grandchildren, Sean Noonan, Nicholas (Haylee) Hanson, Amber Hanson, and great-granddaughter, Genevieve Hanson, and her numerous cousins, church family and friends. She has been preceded in death by her father, Cecil, her mother, Lourine, and her ex-husband, Richard Hanson.
