Marjorie Gray

Marjorie L. (Salisbury) Gray, 91, of Ogden, UT, passed away Nov. 8, 2012. She was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Havensville, KS, to parents Winnefred (Loughmiller) and Clyde F. Salisbury. She had completed all but the last year of public schooling in Manhattan, KS when she moved with her parents to Rawlins, WY in 1937. There, she completed her senior year, graduating from Rawlins High School in 1938. In 1940, Miss Salisbury enrolled in the Lamar Junior College in Lamar, CO. After completing a year of business training, she returned to Rawlins and was employed by the Carbon County Rating Union. On Jan. 15, 1942, she was married to Loren Gray of Sinclair. She remained in Rawlins during WWII while her husband was on active duty. Two children were born in Rawlins: Sharon in 1943 and Donald in 1947. She was active in the Masonic Daughters of the Nile, and was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church while in Rawlins. In 1964, her husband was transferred and the family moved to Utah. They remained in Utah after retirement, residing in South Ogden. Survivors include her husband, Loren Gray; daughter, Sharon (and Paul) Newton; daughter-in-law, Lauri Gray; three grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Donald Gray.
