Mark Anthony Simons

Rawlins, WY

 

Mark Anthony Simons, 70 of Rawlins, Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord on June 18, 2023, in Casper, Wyoming.

 

Mark was born September 27, 1952, to Ralph and Sarah (Jefferson) Simons in West Point, Nebraska.

 

Mark was united in marriage to Helen (Houk) Simons in Rawlins, Wyoming, in 1981.  To this union, one son was born Tyler Allen Simons.

 

Mark grew up and attended school in Stuart, Nebraska.

 

Mark’s heart was always in Rawlins, Wyoming, where he worked for Terry’s Towing.  Terry and Norma became life-long friends.

 

Mark retired from Wyoming State Penitentiary in 2006 after 25 years of service.  Mark kept active, working various jobs, until 2022 when his health began to fail.

 

His enjoyment in life was riding his Harley with his son Tyler, fishing, camping, bowling, and being with family and friends.

 

Mark is survived by his wife Helen of Rawlins, Wyoming; two sons Tyler of Casper, Wyoming and from a previous marriage Mark Anthony (Tony) Simons of Bartlett, Nebraska.  Mark had four brothers Larry (Jean) Dutton of Las Cruces, NM, Jim (Texanna) Dutton of Rawlins, WY, Charlie (Cindy) Simons of Meadow Grove, NE, and Ralph (Denise) Simons of Philip, SD, one sister Mary (Dick) Johnson of Nebraska with numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan Dutton Marvin of Central Point, OR, and one nephew Tommy Dutton of Rawlins, WY. 

 

A celebration of life will be scheduled later.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 Wilson Street, Casper, Wyoming   82601.
