Marty Rogers-Flowers

Marty Rogers-Flowers, 61, of Rawlins, passed away on March 23, 2012. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Rawlins. Rebecca Simon-Peters will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rawlins Cemetery. Marty was born Jan. 12, 1951, in Muncie, IN to parents Jeanne (Cottom) and George Turcks. She moved to Rawlins in 1966 and attended Rawlins Schools. She was married to Jeff Rogers in 1970 and was married to him until he passed away in 1974. She had worked at the Carbon County Hospital as patient transporter for 13 years, the Carbon County Senior Center as a Nutritionist for 8 years, the Best Western Cotton Tree Inn as Lounge Manager for 16 years, and was part owner of All My Love Flowers and Gifts. She married her best friend and longtime companion, Randy Flowers, in 2008. She enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, photography, the outdoors, arts & crafts, music, dancing, and had competed in Women's Professional Bowling. She was a great cook and baker, having made and decorated numerous wedding cakes, had been involved with modeling, and loved her pet dog, "Sadie Rue". Survivors include her husband, Randy Flowers; son and daughter-in-law, Zackrey and Jody Rogers; grandsons, Dustin and Taylor; a sister and brother-in-law, Charline and Wade Provost; all of Rawlins; a sister and brother-in-law, Lydia and Rex Wells of Thornton, CO; mother-in-law, Betty Newton of Green Bay, WI; 3 nieces: Brandi Johanson of Cheyenne and Tassia (Zack) and Kasey (Matthew) Wells of Thornton, CO; a nephew, Robert (Susan) Stipe of Cheyenne; 4 great-nieces and 6 great-nephews; and numerous friends that were all considered as her family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanne Ballard and her first husband, Jeff Rogers.Her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all.
