Mary Banker

Mary "Ann" Banker, 92, of Rawlins, WY, passed away July 11, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at France Memorial Presbyterian Church in Rawlins. Rev. Tom Thompson of the Rawlins Cooperative Parish will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rawlins Cemetery. Ann was born in Anderson, IN on December 30, 1921. She graduated from high school in 1940 and continued on to receive a Bachelor�s Degree in education from Ball State Teacher�s College in Muncie, IN in 1944. Ann moved to Sinclair, WY in 1946 to marry Robert Adams Zimmerman. They were married for 40 years. After Robert�s death in 1986, she married Gerald E. Banker of Rawlins in October of 1991. She loved the West and the mountains and said she would never move back to the Midwest. Ann worked as a teacher in Sinclair, then as a homemaker for most of her life. She lived in Sinclair and Rawlins her entire married life. She was active in her France Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she loved to sing in the choir and enjoyed her Church Circle. She also enjoyed trailer camping, playing Bridge, reading and traveling. She loved to watch mysteries and game shows on TV. The Rawlins Senior Center was an important aspect of her and Jerry�s day to day activities and social life. Ann is survived by her husband of 23 years, Gerald E. Banker of Rawlins; son, Robert Dan Zimmerman and wife, Georgia, of Saratoga, WY; son, Richard Steven Zimmerman and wife, Joanne, of Chandler, AZ; son, Thomas Dean Zimmerman and wife, Kimberly, of Manassas, VA; grandson, Benjamin Zimmerman of Chandler, AZ; grandsons, Cody Zimmerman of Hampton, VA, Justin "Dan" and wife, Betsy, of Norfolk, VA, and Nicholas and Zachary of Manassas, VA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Adams Zimmerman; grandson, Scott Zimmerman; mother, Benice Warnock; father, Dan Babcock; stepmom, Mary Stucky; and brother, Robert F. Babcock.
