Michael V. Andrews, 59, lost his courageous battle with cancer at home with his devoted wife, Diana, at his side in Rawlins on December 22, 2013. Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 3, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Rawlins with visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Interment with military honors will follow in the Rawlins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nick Olson, JD Finch, Doug Andrews, Duane Andrews, Justin Andrews and Kerry Evans. Mike was born August 31, 1954, in Salt Lake City, UT, to parents Dorothy Rae (Coleman) and Veloy M. Andrews, the eldest of four children. He married Diana (Josephson), the love of his life and his high school sweetheart on August 27, 2004, and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having served a two-year mission in Texas and also faithfully serving in all his callings. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and worked as a Lab Tech for the Sinclair Refinery. He also served for 20 years in the Air National Guard before his honorable discharge on April 6, 2003. He would spend his leisure time reading, always wanting to gain more knowledge. Mike is survived by his wife, Diana; mother, Dorothy Carlson of Gooding, ID; sons: JD (Melissa) Finch of Taylorsville, UT and Nick (Samantha) Olson of Woodstock, GA; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Bank of Murray, UT; brothers: Doug (Kathy) Andrews of West Jordon, UT and Duane (Grace) Andrews os Battle Mountain, UT; sister, Cheryl Andrews of Gooding, ID; grandchildren: Max and Mia Olson, Karl and Jackson Finch and Jack Olson; aunts, uncles, nephews, niece, in-laws, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Veloy M. Andrews. Mike was loved and will be missed by all his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Mr. Andrews' memory be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
