Owen Arnold
Yenne
Oct 16, 1938 — Jun 23, 2026
Owen Arnold Yenne, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on June 23, 2026, in Rawlins, Wyoming, at the age of 87. Born in Sterling, Colorado on October 16, 1938, Owen’s life was a beautifully woven fabric of resilience, adventure, and love—each thread touched deeply by family, laughter, and the wild open spaces he adored.
Owen’s journey through life was anything but ordinary. As a young man, he learned the value of hard work and integrity, lessons that would define his career for decades. He became a skilled heavy equipment operator, a challenging and demanding profession he approached with skill and pride. Eventually, he realized his dream of owning his own business, founding M&S Drilling (Oilfield Services), where he forged lasting relationships and made a lasting mark on the industry. Owen’s work ethic was legendary, and those around him felt the strength of his character in every project he undertook.
Nature always called to Owen, and he answered with gusto. He had a passion for rock hunting and hunting, spending countless happy hours exploring the outdoors. He relished riding in his side by side, eager for adventure whether it took him across a wide-open plain or along a mountain trail. Time outdoors was sacred for Owen, and many treasured memories were made while snowmobiling, camping under the stars, or enjoying the gentle warmth of the sun on his face. One could always count on him for a ride—if you were lucky, perhaps to McDonalds for a treat, sneaking in another cherished memory.
Owen possessed a spirit that was as ornery and mischievous as it was big-hearted. He loved to joke around, sharing laughter with family and friends. Holidays were bright with his humor and warmth; his playful antics—like trying to “break” bending his thumb—became endearing stories passed down and remembered fondly. He also had a particular fondness for simple pleasures: a cold Pepsi, a crunch of potatoes, a well-earned Snickers, and that unmistakable hint of Skoal.
Television nights saw Owen engrossed in old Westerns, the excitement of wrestling, or the energy of a football game—memories that echo still in the hearts of those who sat beside him. But perhaps nothing gave him more joy than being surrounded by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching them play, sharing in their wonder, and reveling in the special bond he had with each one.
Throughout his life, Owen was fiercely proud of the legacy he helped build: being a loving husband to his cherished late wife Vivian, whose memory remained close to his heart; his ever-iconic red Corvette, a testament to his style and a lifetime of stories; and, above all, the family and friendships he nurtured.
Owen is survived by his children Brenda (Gerald) Johnson of Rawlins, Wyoming, Becky Tully of Elko, Nevada, Debbie Yenne of Sinclair, Wyoming, Brett (Sheila) Tully of Sinclair, Wyoming, and Lisa (Dustin) Feyder of Elko, Nevada. Each of these loved ones shaped Owen’s path, and their memories live on in the stories told and retold for generations.
Owen’s lovable orneriness, his laughter, and the twinkle in his eye touched all who knew him—his companionship will be deeply missed, yet his legacy endures in every campfire tale, every shared joke, and every heart he lightened with his good-natured spirit.
A life so full deserves to be honored and remembered. Details regarding services are not included here, but family and friends are encouraged to gather, share stories, and celebrate Owen Arnold Yenne’s remarkable life as he would have wished—with warmth, laughter, and love.
