Patricia Corpening

Patricia Corpening, 87, of Saratoga, Wyoming, passed away May 13, 2015. Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Saratoga, Wyoming on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Saratoga Cemetery. Patricia Anderson Corpening was born October 26, 1927 in Roland, Iowa to Ove O. Anderson and Anne (Ristesund) Anderson. She married Howard Corpening on May 23, 1953 in Elko, Nevada. Patricia lived in Roland, Nevada, New Providence and Tama, Iowa and also in Pinedale, Rock Springs and Saratoga, Wyoming; the latter since 1955. She was a 1945 graduate of Roland High School in Roland, Iowa. She attended the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she received her degree in primary education. She also attended the University of Wyoming for one summer. She taught third grade at New Providence and Tama, Iowa. In 1952, she came to Wyoming and taught second grade in Pinedale and third grade in Rock Springs. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Saratoga, Wyoming, serving as a deacon. She was a past member of the Daughters of the Nile and the Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family and friends, church, dancing, golfing, reading, writing poetry, and traveling. She is survived by two sons, Griffin and wife, Chris and Greg and wife, Janelle; four grandchildren, Jennifer, CodiAnne, Shane and Jack; two great-grandsons, Jeremiah and Brennen; one sister, Ethel; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three half-sisters, two half-brothers, three sisters, six brothers, her husband and one grandson.
