Ray Martinez

On March 21, 1959, Albert Martinez and Stella Romero Maestas welcomed Ray "Rick" Martinez into the world in Rawlins, Wyoming. Sadly, on August 2, 2021 he left us.

Rick loved music, whether it was playing the drums, guitar or listening to it loud. Outdoor life was always a big part in Rick's life. His mastery in masonry, landscaping and attention to detail was admired by many. Not all outdoor life was work though. He loved arrowhead hunting, playing with his dogs Brak and Speedy or just supporting his beloved Rockies. Rick was very sociable. He had many friends due to his non-judgemental easy going attitude and overall charm, which didn't hurt with the ladies.

Ray is survived by his children: Adrian Martinez, Marci Martinez and husband Jared Peterson, and Desmond Martinez; his grandchildren: Darian Martinez, Nolan Peterson, and Rio Campos; Great Grandchild: Carter Weythman; his siblings: Dennis Martinez, Mary Gonzales, Gina Apodaca, Nancy Thompson, Joann Maestas-Renteria, and Robert Maestas and a host of friends.

Ray was proceeded in death by his siblings: Charlie Romero, Henry Maestas, Margie Maestas-Ortiz, Yolanda Maestas-Ulander, Bernice Diggs, Annabelle Lovato, Joe Martinez and Josephine Martinez.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
