Obituary

Raymond Webb, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his home in Rawlins, Wyoming, on September 26, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 28, 1942, in South Portland, Maine, Raymond lived a life rich with experiences, stories, and love that touched the hearts of those around him.

Raymond's career was as diverse as it was industrious. He worked many jobs throughout his years, showcasing his varied skills and steadfast determination. He began his working life as a lineman, a position he treasured above all else, declaring it to be his favorite job. Trained in the Army, he served his country honorably, joining the Army National Guard after enlisting at the tender age of 17. He worked in the strip mines, was a security guard at the Wyoming Penitentiary, followed by another role at Loretto Heights College in Colorado. As an electrician in Colorado, he tinkered and wired up all sorts of things, reveling in the creativity his expertise afforded him. In his later years, he brought warmth and nourishment to those in need while working in the kitchen at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins.

Raymond was a man full of life, forever ready with an interesting story that left an impact on all who had the privilege to listen. A generous spirit, he consistently helped anyone in need, often putting others before himself. Fond memories abound, especially those created with his daughter Sandra and son Ron. One of the most cherished recollections by his granddaughter Ronni of climbing to the top of Mt. Evans with him when she was around ten years old, a moment symbolizing both adventure and the special bond they shared. He also delighted going on explorations beneath Loretto Heights College, revealing the network of tunnels that wove through the grounds.

Raymond's passions extended beyond work. A true cowboy at heart, he loved to ride horses, embodying the spirit of adventure in his leisure time. His fascination with model trains blossomed into a treasured hobby, with a vast collection and an impressive setup that showcased his creativity and dedication.

His family remembers him not just for his various accomplishments but for the depth of love he poured into being a father and grandfather. Raymond is survived by his loving children, Sandra and Ron, and his cherished grandchildren: Billy, Melissa, Chris, Richie, Ronni, Chrissy, Ryan, and Izzy. He took immense joy in being a grandfather to his great-grandchildren: Dylan, Zach, Matthew, Ethan, Evan, CJ, Jayden, Kirsten, Alexia, Kyriana, IlIyssa, and Kay Lee. Each one of them carries a piece of his legacy forward.

As we gather in remembrance, we hold him close to our hearts, celebrating a life well-lived and the many tales that will forever echo in our memories. In the spring, we will spread his ashes at the serene lake near Snowy Range in Wyoming, honoring the spirit of a man who embraced life with open arms and a heart full of love. Raymond Webb will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
