Renee Gloria Torrez

March 23rd 1966 - September 4th 2026

Renee Gloria Torrez was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend whose vibrant spirit and enormous heart touched the lives of everyone blessed enough to know her. She lived her life as a true free spirit. A little gypsy at heart, fiercely independent, full of personality, and always the life of the party wherever she went. Regardless of the situation she was in she found the silver lining.

Renee was a devoted and loving mother to her son, Joseph Michael Torrez, and her daughter, Vanessa Ann Lopez. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her kids. She was an amazing grandmother to Joseph Jr. and Jalissa, whom she loved deeply and proudly. (Cheesetoes) Her children and grandchildren were a piece of her heart, and she would fiercely stand by them no matter what. Renee was loyal to the very end and would never allow anyone to speak badly about her people or the ones she loved.

She was a woman with the biggest heart. She was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back if she could. She loved with her whole heart, gave without hesitation, and had a way of making people feel welcomed and loved. Her soul was pure, and beneath her vibrant and feisty personality was a tenderness that those closest to her knew so well.

She had a special kind of love for animals and would care for them if they came around. She loved cats most but would even feed the wild rabbits by the house her and her dad lived in.

Renee had a special love for her Harley-Davidsons. Riding gave her a feeling of freedom that was impossible to describe. She would always say, “Catch me on the back of the bike,that’s when I’m happiest.” Those who knew her could see the happiness on her face when she was riding, feeling the wind and living life exactly the way she wanted to.

She also loved her jewelry, and you could almost always count on Renee having every one of her rings on. She loved her old-school music and could never resist a good song. When one came on, she would start jamming, dancing, and doing her own little dance that everyone who loved her will remember. Those little moments, her music, her laughter, her dancing, her rings, her stories, and her unmistakable personality….those are the memories that will live on.

Renee was a hard worker and a devoted caretaker to her late father, Joseph Pete Torrez. She moved from Denver to Wyoming to be there for him and ensure he was cared for. She carried a deep love for her family and gave so much of herself to the people she cared for.

She was a loving daughter, and a beloved sister. Renee always spoke so highly of her “little sister” Gina, a testament to the special bond they shared. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and who loved her just as deeply.

Renee was unforgettable and an incredibly smart and loyal individual. Most of all, she was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. Her life was full of love, laughter, music, family, and a desire to live freely. Nothing could hold her back from the life she longed to live. She didn’t believe in constraints or being confined to one place. The mark she left on the people she loved cannot be measured, and her absence will be felt in countless ways.

Renee is survived by her mother, Judith Ann Torrez; her son, Joseph Michael Torrez; her daughter, Vanessa Ann Lopez(Jackie Lopez Lopez); her grandchildren, Joseph Jr. and Jalissa; her siblings, Alphonso Duran(Vickie Garcia), Lorie Sanchez Lopez, and Gina Torrez(Jamel Jenkins); and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry her memory in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Joseph Pete Torrez.

Renee will be deeply missed, fiercely loved, and forever remembered. Her spirit will live on in the music that makes us dance, the motorcycles that remind us of freedom, the stories we tell, and most of all, in the hearts of the people she loved so completely.
