Rod Lee Milliken, 56, of Rawlins, Wyoming passed away on May 11th, 2025 peacefully in his home.
Rod was born on August 20th, 1968 to Robert Terry and Anita Milliken of Rawlins, Wyoming. After graduating from Rawlins High School in 1986 he went on to study at WyoTech to begin a career in mechanics in the automotive industry. After graduation he pursued his career in automotives until he got on with Union Pacific Railroad.
In June 15th, 1996 he welcomed his daughter DeShan, little did he know she would arrive a month early on the day he was scheduled to be a groomsman at his best friend’s wedding.
In June of 2020, Rod was involved in a train accident which led to his retirement from Union Pacific. During his retirement he enjoyed attending University of Wyoming Basketball games where he was an avid superfan. He would attend the Mountain West Basketball Tournaments each year. He was one of the biggest sports fans you’d ever meet cheering on the Wyoming Cowboys, Denver Broncos or the Buffalo Bills football teams. He also enjoyed riding his Harley with his friends and attending Sturgis Rally week. He enjoyed racing as well. But, his greatest joy in life was spending time with his daughter and granddaughter.
Rod was preceded in death by his mother (Anita Joy Milliken), Father (Robert Terry Milliken), Grandmother (Gertrude Milliken), Grandfather (Robert Milliken) and Grandmother (Mildred Crank).
Rod is survived by his daughter DeShan (Cody) Madden, Granddaughter Peyton Larson, Sister Tammy (Troy) Mortensen, Brother Tad (BobbieJo) Milliken, Brother Kenneth Dale (Suzy) McCartney and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held, Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the Rawlins Elks Lodge #609 (405 W. Buffalo Street, Rawlins, Wyoming). The family is requesting that you wear any University of Wyoming Athletic Wear. Rod would want us to celebrate his life and share memories of laughter and love of him.
