Ronald John Bjork, born on February 16, 1943, in Ironwood, Michigan, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, in Rawlins, Wyoming, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a man deeply respected and admired for his unwavering willingness to help anyone in need and for the warm companionship he extended to all who knew him.

Mr. Bjork’s professional life was marked by dedication and commitment. He served in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army National Guard, and U.S. Air National Guard, culminating in a distinguished 27-year military career before retiring from the Air Force (Air National Guard) in February 2003. Parallel to his military service, Ronald devoted many years to the energy sector, working ten years underground in the coal mines of Hanna, Wyoming, with Arch Mineral & Energy (1970-1980). Additionally, he spent 27 years with Sinclair Oil Corp. in Sinclair, Wyoming, as an electrician and operator, retiring in February 2003. His proudest accomplishments extended beyond his professional achievements; he treasured his involvement in international church missions, including work in Russia and Mexico, and he took immense pride in his children and grandchildren.

Ronald was a family man at heart. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed taking road trips, both by car and motorcycle, to visit relatives and friends across the country. An avid amateur ham radio operator, he delighted in connecting with people worldwide, further illustrating his friendly and outgoing nature. Known for his genuine kindness and approachable demeanor, everyone who crossed his path enjoyed his presence.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sally Bjork; brother Greg (Mary Ann) Bjork; sister Sharon (AD) Briggs; daughter Stacey (Randy) Golden; sons Tim (Christine) Bjork, Jason Bjork, and Ryan (Tammi) Bjork; granddaughters Kassi Bertogli, Amanda (Levi) Porter, Brianna (Ben) Battson; grandsons Noah Bjork, Gerry Kidd, and Andy Kidd; great-grandchildren Zoey, Naomi, Ted, Hanna, and Sam; as well as niece Michelle.

Ronald was preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Olivann T. Bjork; niece Wanda Briggs; mother Virginia Bjork; and father Toivo Bjork.

A graveside service will be held on March 26, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hanna Cemetery, Hanna, Wyoming. This service will provide family, friends, and community members a solemn opportunity to honor and remember a man whose legacy of kindness, service, and devotion will endure.

Ronald John Bjork’s life was marked by honor, dedication, and heartfelt compassion. His memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
