Ruth Stine

Ruth Ann Stine, 87, native of Green River, Wyoming passed away peacefully on August 16, 2015 at the Kindred Nursing Facility of Rawlins, Wyoming with her three daughters by her side. She was born May 18, 1928 in Green River, Wyoming to Clarence E. Lewis and Alida Hulda Carlson. She married Tracy W. Stine on November 5, 1946 in Green River and worked alongside him for the Union Pacific Railroad Express Company. Later they owned and operated the Center Street Conoco service station, and then built and operated Things ‘R Stuff ceramic and leather craft store. After retirement they traveled and settled in St. George, Utah, where in 1990 her husband preceded her in death. Ruth was remembered for her big heart and selflessness. She is survived by one brother, Edward O. Lewis of Green River; 5 children, Tracy James Stine of St. George, Utah, Ruth Linda (Wally) Shepard of Rawlins, Wyoming, Dorland B. Stine of Krebs, Oklahoma, Sandy (Terry) Van Valkenburg of Boulder, Wyoming and Wendy (Mark) Anderson of McKinnon, Wyoming; six grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Tracy; her brother, Herbert Lewis of Green River; and one granddaughter, Tina Stine of Green River. At her request, the family will celebrate her life on August 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Riverview Cemetery, Green River, Wyoming.
