Soledad Torres Bencomo, born on August 20, 1936, in Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at the Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins, Wyoming. She was a woman of remarkable strength and independence, whose unwavering faith enriched the lives of those around her.
Soledad dedicated her life to her family. Her children, Maria Garcia, Araceli Garcia, Reynaldo Garcia, Jose Luiz Garcia, Rafael Garcia, Sergio Garcia, Nicole Terry, and siblings Manuel, Ismael, and Blanca will carry forward her legacy of compassion and care. She was adored by her 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom knew the warmth and love that she had to offer.
Her career was a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit, as she successfully ran three businesses in the food industry for nearly four decades. Additionally, she spent her later years working for Flying J, which further exemplified her work ethic and dedication.
Soledad was not only known for her delicious cooking, particularly her famed enchiladas and mole, but also for the cherished moments spent over cups of “cafecito,” where great conversations and light-hearted gossip could often be found. Her engaging personality was matched only by her impeccable style; she always presented herself beautifully, regardless of the occasion.
An avid enthusiast of word searches, Soledad owned around 1,000 books and could complete one in just two days. Her hobbies included sewing, nurturing her beloved plants, and enjoying her favorite television show, "12 Corazones." These interests showcased her vibrant and nurturing nature.
In her later years, she also treasured the friendships she formed with her best friends Wilma Lopez, Margarita Oro, Ricarda Morales, and Francis Archuleta, who stood by her side through life’s ups and downs.
Soledad will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but we find solace in the knowledge that she is now resting in the loving embrace of God. In her passing, she leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a commitment to cherishing those around her.
She was welcomed into eternity by her mother Mariana Munoz, father Rafael Bencomo, second husband Tony Torrez, daughter Rosa Garcia, son Rigo Garcia, and siblings Israel, Rafael, Saul, and Irma.
