IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sue Marie
Strickland
April 13, 1948 – October 5, 2025
Sue Marie (Ainsworth) Strickland passed away October 5, 2025 at the age of 77.
She was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming on April 13, 1948, and was raised in Rawlins by her parents Ed and Gloria Ainsworth, who she cherished and cared for until their passing.
She graduated from Rawlins High School in 1966 and briefly lived in Denver before returning home to Rawlins to raise three loving children. She was a wonderful mother and friend who supported her children through thick and thin.
Sue loved “outlaw” country music, chocolate and flower gardening. Her favorite place was being in the mountains camping, fishing, and seeing the fall leaves change. She was an exceptional seamstress and made many beautiful quilts that are family heirlooms. She also made craft soaps and lotions and baked the most amazing brownies and fudge and sent welcomed care packages to her distant children for special occassions and holidays.
Sue is survived by her husband Tim Strickland, her brother and sister-in-law Jim and Connie Ainsworth, her daughter Dawn Meidinger (Craig Lerfald), her daughter Gayle Sanchez (Abe Sanchez), her son David Meidinger (Jessica Black), her grandson Thomas Sanchez and her four-legged children Kelby and Poppy and many loving friends including Donna Anderson and Linda “Lu”.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents James and Ogda Cuthbertson; her parents Ed and Gloria Ainsworth; her uncles and aunts Harold (Cubby) Cuthbertson, Jack and Mary Ainsworth and Delmer and Dolores Cuthbertson; and her granddaughter Natalia Carter.
