Virginia Swan

October 2, 1929 — May 27, 2016

Virginia "Gini" Theresa Swan passed from this life on May 27, 2016 with her loving daughter, Debbie by her side. She was born on October 2, 1929 in Detroit, MI. Gini was raised in a boarding school, and later in life worked as an administrative assistant. In 1956 Gini met the love of her life, Robert Alan Swan, and the couple married in 1961. Gini found her true calling as a dedicated wife and mother. She was loving, caring, and always tried to ensure that friends were taken care of and had a place to stay. Preceding Gini in death are numerous relatives including her parents; mother-in-law, Geraldine Crawford; and her beloved husband, Robert A. Swan. Surviving to cherish Gini's memory are her daughter, Debra Swan; extended family member, Nancy Spain and her four children; and her best friend of over 50 years, Jackie Demert. While Gini is missed daily by her family, she is free of pain and the harshness of life, and is forever united with her husband, to whom Gini had written the following poem: 'When the day is long and dreary, I would like to have you near, so we can dream together of of the things of us so dear. When the dusk is slowly fading and the dark falls on the land, you will find that I am longing for your lovely warming hand. When the large white moon is shining in a sky of deepest blue, thoughts that I possess each moment will be focused just on you. When the dawn of day is nearing and the sky is red and gray, for your long enchanted presence in my lovely heart I pray. And when you have promised that you soon will hold me tight, all my heart is wildly beating at the thought of such delight.' They had a special and lasting love. The family wishes to thank Bill for all his love, care and help; Linda Bustos of Precision Cuts for doing Gini's hair weekly for 16 years; and Steven with C&W cab for driving her to those appointments.
