Wilhelmina (Billie) Goergen, resident of Rawlins, Wyoming, passed away on Thursday April 11th, 2024, at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County at the age of 76 years.
Billie was born on March 25th, 1948 in Cando, North Dakota on the family farm. She was married to Garry Goergen on June 4th, 1966. Billie was a kind, generous, and loving woman who always had time to chat with anyone. Billie had a loving marriage of 57 years, cherishing her time with her husband, Garry. She loved camping in the mountains and staying at their lake place. She especially loved chatting with her friends and children on the shore. She adored spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She was a grandmother to all and loved fixing lunches for her grandkids and all their friends. Billie loved growing up on her family farm, playing with her friends and family. She was an avid seamstress who also loved needlework. She prided herself on sewing wedding, prom dresses and costumes.
Billie was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, PEO Chapter A, the Prayer Shawl ministry, and the PTO for Pershing and Mountain View elementary schools. She was a 4-H leader and a cub scout den mother.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Garry, children Wade (Cecilia) Goergen, Annette (Chris) Waller, Kim (Jerome) Flores, grandchildren, Joshua Waller, Derek (Courtney) Waller, Jeremy Waller, Chantel (Jeremy) Gibbel, Toran Flores, Maria Goergen, great-grandchildren Skyller Waller, Tate Waller, Avery Waller, and Bindi Gibbel, siblings Margaret Raddohl, Cathy Haus, Mary Klinge, Virginia Crotty, Jim Eggl, mother-in-law Ceceilia Goergen, brother and sister-in-law Clint (Marie) Goergen, sister-in-law Diane K. Eggl and numerous nephews and nieces. Billie was preceded in death by her parents John and Eileen Eggl, sister Diane Raghib, and brother John (Jack) Eggl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 16th, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Rawlins Cemetery. A Rosary will be said on Monday, April 15th, at 7:00 PM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Everyone is encouraged to join the family for a reception in the gym at the Catholic School.
